Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California - Primary Care Physician Assistant Program http://keck.usc.edu/Education/Academic_Department_and_Divisions/Physician_Assistant _Program.aspx A B.A. or B.S. from an accredited institution. Patient care experience (1500+ hrs), non-health care volunteer work (500 hrs), and PA shadowing (20 hrs) are highly recommended. For 2012, there were 600 applicants and only 55 were admitted. The average GPA of entering PA students was 3.47 on a 4.00 scale. Average GRE score is 295. (Old GRE scores would be no less than 500 each - verbal and quantitative). MCAT average score of 26. The average GPA of entering PA students was 3.55 on a 4.00 scale. No GRE scores are required. FYI: Employment of physicians and surgeons is expected to grow 30% through 2020. Physician Assistants can be hired in diverse areas such as hospitals, academic medical centers, public clinics, and prisons. How could I expect to be one of 40 something students out of 1500+ applicants?
