Contrarian
I've done a few searches... and tried to get concrete info to no avail... Does anyone (EMEDPA since you regularly go to Haiti) know for SURE if there are PAs in DR...????
Moderator EMEDPA Posted November 6, 2012 Moderator Share Posted November 6, 2012 I have never heard of there being pa's there. certainly didn't see any last time I was there....would be a great place to work as a pa if that were an option. dkuhns1
My understanding is that many years ago there were PAs being trained in Haiti at the Albert Schweitzer Hospital, but no longer. No word of PAs being trained in DR, though I do know have colleagues/friends who do short-term mission work there.

benny32311
Apparently in PR they have Practicantes. Which is similar to a PA, but not a PA. I remember it being mentioned in a PA Role class I took, but I don't know for sure. They are allowed to practice in other parts of the US Carib though (St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. Johns).
