Looking for Examples of Successful New Hire/Grad Onboarding or Tiered Systems

I would love to hear examples of successful onboarding programs for new hires and/or new grads in the ED. What worked? What went well? Was there a contractual obligation? 

Also, would love to hear input regarding the pros and cons of ED departments that offer a "tiered system" that allows APPs to work up in the scope of practice/skill set/autonomy. Was there a pay incentive? What did each "tier" entail? How long? (or if you have heard of a department that does this, would love to know which one.)
