christinaaa808
Hi all, I am new to this forum so I hope that I will be able to receive helpful information from all of you. I just applied for PA school in June 2012. I applied to UTMB (rejected), Baylor College of Medicine, UT Pan American, UT Southwestern, and UNT Health Science Center. My GPA is low. I took some basic classes at a community college and my GPA at the community college is a 3.4. I attend a private university in TX and my overall GPA is 2.9. Does CASPA average the 2 GPAs? My science GPA is less than a 3.0. My GRE scores are: Verbal (138), Quant (144), and Analytical (4.0). I volunteered at a medical clinic and shadowed a medical doctor. What are my chances of getting into any of these schools? I have had sleepless nights about this. I don't want to fail and let down myself. Anyone please reply, thanks. cinntsp
With your GPA and lack of HCE, your chances of getting into any of those is minimal at best. Search the pre-PA section for how to overcome a low GPA and what you should do to start earning HCE.

JasonD
HCE = Health Care Experience. With your low GPA and lack of quality HCE, you will not get into PA school. Retake science classes you got lower than a B in and get A's. Work as an EMT or CNA for a year or two while you are retaking classes. THEN you might get in.
