djb76
Hello, I am currently working for a small Primary Care Clinic in Washington State. Apparently my supervising MD was escorted out of the building and is no longer working with the organization. There is a different doc, a DO that is listed as my secondary supervising physician. Do I need a different delegation agreement with the DO since my primary supervising doc is no longer in the picture? What is the time line in which this needs to take place? How long does it take to get a delegation agreement set up through the DOH with the DO (I already have my Osteopathic PA license)? Is a delegation agreement currently required or does this continue to be waived related to the pandemic? Thank you for your input. Moderator EMEDPA Posted September 19, 2020 Moderator Share Posted September 19, 2020 Alternate means they can continue in the absence of the primary. no reason for you to miss any work.
Administrator rev ronin Posted September 19, 2020 Administrator Share Posted September 19, 2020 This sounds like a Washington State issue. You're fine. I'd get a new delegation agreement put together reasonably soon, but just in case your alternate gets hit by a bus.

Colorado
You're probably fine since you have that secondary CP on record, but double check with your WA state medical board regarding your specific questions.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted September 22, 2020 Moderator Share Posted September 22, 2020 OR now uses SPO (Supervsing Physician organizations). This means that every doc in the practice is a supervisor with no named primary. Any time a new doc joins the practice they become a supervisor.
