AAPA call out physician organizations for trying to roll back Covid-19 CMS expansions.

if you have ever called out the current AAPA for not pushing hard enough, you need to say good job here or I’m just going to consider you a complainer from now on.

I send them $25/month, every month on an automatic payment from my bank..... now is the time we need the $$$$ to influence the politicians.......

I am writing to you today, in these most uncertain times, to ask for your help as an AAPA member to ensure the voice of PAs continues to be heard in the halls of Congress.

AAPA’s political action committee, PA PAC – the only PAC representing and speaking for PAs on Capitol Hill – paused fundraising in March to honor the work PAs were doing to respond to the pandemic, to be respectful of those PAs whose hours were reduced or were furloughed, and to focus on helping PAs and PA students get through the challenging months of spring and summer. However, during this difficult time, AAPA and PA PAC never stopped working for the interests of PAs and PA students.

But now, as we look toward Fall, and an election taking place in less than three months, PA PAC must regain its momentum and finish the year in a strong position to support our many champions on Capitol Hill and secure our strong relationships for the months and years to come.
PA PAC gives us a seat at the table – and the stakes are simply too high to sit on the sidelines. This is especially true during the current healthcare crisis – we must ensure PAs are seen and heard by our political leaders as programs are created or expanded and funding is distributed.

PA PAC helps to build and maintain relationships with federal legislators and engages key policymakers who are considering issues that will impact the future of our profession and the patients we serve. It is funded entirely through voluntary contributions from member PAs and PA students like you and me, and it lags far behind the PACs of our peers in healthcare, such as NPs and physical therapists.

will you contribute to PA PAC today to make sure PAs are seen and heard?

Thank you in advance for investing in the future of your profession. Learn more, and read our 2019 Annual Report, at aapa.org/PAC.

Sincerely,

Gregory Burns, DHSc, MMS, PA-C, DFAAPA
Chair, PA PAC Board of Trustees
Contributions to PA PAC are used for political purposes and subject to the prohibitions and limitations of the Federal Election Campaign Act. Contributions to PA PAC are voluntary, must be paid with personal funds, and may be accepted from current AAPA members and employees only. You have the right to refuse to contribute without fear of reprisal. Federal law requires PA PAC to use its best efforts to collect and report the name, address, occupation and employer of individuals whose contributions aggregate $200 or more per calendar year. Contributions to PA PAC are not tax deductible as charitable donations.
