KaiannC
I am entering into my third year of undergrad, and have completed the required courses to enroll in a biochemistry course. After looking at several PA programs, I noticed that many programs require biochemistry and most highly recommend it. At our school, we have the option of taking a nutritional biochemistry through our nutrition department and a biochemistry course through our biology department. I was wondering if taking the nutritional biochemsitry would be evaluated differently than the regular biochemistry and if this could cause problems later on when applying for schools. Thanks
mgriffiths
Would truly depend on the course syllabus/description - but I would recommend doing regular biochemistry to avoid the confusion and extra hassle of schools having to verify courses. It's more work...and you don't want to create a reason for schools to bypass you.
ohiovolffemtp
Amen to that. My PA school would not accept my cell biology course as filling their "biochemistry" requirements. The admin person who looked at the name of the course really couldn't penetrate the actual course syllabi.
kaynat
hey do you mind telling me what you ended up doing, I'm in the same situation. If you took the nutritional one did they take it?
