sav11
Does anyone know of an online medical terminology course that fulfills the prerequisite for PA schools. Ideally, I am looking for a self-paced program, though I am open to other options.
DarcyJ
Have you tried searching the online classes thread yet? It's long, so I imagine there's a suggestion in there for med term somewhere. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Ket131
I do not know of any that do not require in person test taking. Just a tip, find one that meets credit requirements. Some schools want 3 credit Vs 2 credit medical terminology and it is a bummer to find that out while searching for schools. I guess take the one that can get you into the schools you want. PACrankset
Took University of phoenix’s class this last spring. It is 3 credits and fulfilled the requirement at the schools I applied to.

Kaylee272
I took an online medical terminology course at University of Arizona online! It was 3 credits and self paced over the semester (super easy!!) Im not sure how it works when you aren't enrolled in a bacc program but it was great! mooredc
I took mine through university of San Diego. It was a 2 credit, graduate level ( I have no clue why) self paced course. I did it in 3 days and it was accepted everywhere. It was literally just 25 modules with a quiz at the end. https://pce.sandiego.edu/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=38327378 2
Natalie2018
I took mine through a local community college, I was able to enroll for the one class and never had to go in and test in person. Super easy.

Cost is less than similar courses. It now seems to be 16 modules, and 3 small exercises. But yes, it is self- paced and that's perfect. S. PAStudent8152
Thank you so much! I was confused since the unofficial trasncript said 2 academic units next to my grade...I also listed it as University of San Diego in caspa instead of university of SanDiego extension of continuing education, I hope that is ok

I was struggling to find a graded online course for credits which wasn't ridiculously expensive. So glad I saw this and enrolled in this one! baliconnors
For people that took this class at U San Diego online, did you buy the textbook? I'm looking for the most efficient and budget-friendly way to complete the prereq

Its just going through and taking the quizzes. If there is a word or concept I didnt know I just googled it.

But I have already completed about 1/4 of the modules just by using google (thank god for quizlet) and my own general knowledge from anatomy. PhanPA
https://pce.sandiego.edu/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=38327378 For this course, does it matter that it says 2 credits of medical terminology than 3 credits? Will most PA schools accept that or is it better to go for a 3-credit course at a community college? I do like the fact that it's self paced though
boblee
Most PA schools I'm seeing requires only 1 credit for Medical Terminology. So I think that is fine.
