ella.j
OH seems to have more steps versus other states... In the process in applying for licensure now. I have already submitted my application to practice. Has anyone filled out the Supervision Agreement Application? On the board of medicine site, the application has NO fee listed. But I googled the same thing, and another one came up with $25 app fee. Which one is it?! Any links on the correct form? The OAPA website does list you need a physician assistant supervisory plan, but there is no link for a form. Anyone know where to access this? Finally, for Rx authority. I had rx authority in another state for 2 years- I am going to apply for full Rx authority. Who fills the verification part out, your previous employer? A little frustrated, please help! UGoLong
Everything has changed as of October 15. Next week the state will begin issuing combined licenses/prescriptive rights. Supervisory agreements are now kept in the office and sent to the state for information only. It sounds like you are caught in the midst of the change. From OhioPA.com (the OAPA): 11/06/2015 SB110 Guidance Documents from the Medical BoardThe Ohio State Medical Board has provided guidance documents for the implementation of SB110 which became effective on October 15, 2015. PA Permissible Services This document outlines what a PA can and cannot do under the new law. NOTE: Page 2, 4730.03 ORC allows you to delegate to RNs and LPNs. Page 3, 4730.203 ORC only restricts delegation of medications to unlicensed personnel (i.e., Medical Assistants), not to RNs. PA Physician Supervision This document outlines the responsibilities of the supervising physician. Also from the Medical Board: You do not need to submit new Supervision Agreements. You will use the new Agreement forms when the Agreements come up for renewal in 2017. The Medical Board advises that you should create a document now that refers to the fact PAs can now delegate to non-licensed personnel. Keep the document on file in your office. See A-2 in this document. PA Prescriptive Authority This document outlines details of PA prescriptive authority. Ohio Revised Code (ORC) - Statutes Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) - Rules Please contact OAPA if you have any questions. - See more at: http://www.ohiopa.com/aws/OAPA/pt/sd/news_article/114025/_PARENT/layout_details/false#sthash.GA3w9tVA.dpuf
ella.j
thank u so much! so, to my understanding I do NOT need to submit a supervision agreement plan or supervisory plan? i did access this form on the state board's website: http://med.ohio.gov/Applicants/PhysicianAssistant%28PA%29.aspx#640295-general-overview and then looked under "Supervision Agreement Application" section. there is a supervisory agreements application for a health care facility. this form does NOT have a fee. but, do i still submit it, even tho u wrote "you do not need to submit new Supervision Agreements." a little confused :-s I feel like banging my head against the wall. :(
UGoLong
I went to an Ohio school and got Ohio licenses over 9 years ago. The system has changed a lot since then. I don't know all of the ins and outs. If I were you, I'd join OAPA and then call them. They know the new system a whole lot better than I do.
