Or maybe a cover letter, a specific letter to that school and why you want to go to that specific school (as opposed to the generic personal statement). If you think you have something that is pertinent to your application, include it. If not, it could end up looking worse if you send something that does not make sense or that you think is not pertinent to your application and for the program to see.
