tavenne323
FYI This year it looks like statements cannot be longer that 3000 characters.
cejones1993
If this is true then I may have to scrap my entire essay...
Administrator rev ronin Posted March 29, 2015 Administrator Share Posted March 29, 2015 GOOD! 5,000 was ridiculously too long. You can fit anything into 5,000 characters, while 3,000 means you have to make hard choices and edit very carefully.
tavenne323
Yea, mine is sitting at about 2500, and I was wondering if I should add more just because I had room! https://portal.caspaonline.org/caspaHelpPages/frequently-asked-questions/additional-information/narrative-personal-statement-information/index.html There's the link that says 3000. cejones1993
The page that link takes me to is the old page I think because it still says personal narrative on the side, at least on my end.
Z PA-C
It says 3000 to me as well. I hope this will at least make the admissions process go faster since they will be reading shorter essays now

cejones1993
I'm going to have to rewrite my entire essay now. Or try to edit it down. Ugh

DiggySRNA
It was 3000 for me 17 hours ago but now it says 5000. Looks like it was a typo and they fixed it. Let's see what happens in the next 23 days.

Let's see what happens in the next 23 days. I agree, When I am looking at the home page it says 3,000. But when I click on the Essay link, it says 5,000. Hopefully they decide on the actual number :)
aloha_mj
Here's the response from CASPA customer support for those applying for 2015-2016. When initially inquired, he/she had told me that the character limit will most likely remain as 3,000 for 2015-16 cycle. After few days, they emailed back with this clarification message. It seems that 5,000 characters will be the limit for this cycle. See below. Good afternoon, Please disregard the previous email--I have spoken with my manager and it looks like the character count will be 5,000 for the 2015-16 cycle. I apologize for the confusion! Please contact CASPA if you have any further questions. Our phone number is 617-612-2080 Monday – Friday 9am – 5PM EST or at caspainfo@caspa.org Best Regards, CASPA Customer Support 617-612-2080 | caspainfo@caspaonline.org
Teacher2PAC
Do you think it will stay 5,000 for future cycles or change?
